Everett Youth Symphony - www.eyso.info

Everett Youth Symphony Orchestras is comprised of four skill-graded orchestras led by outstanding professional conductors and music educators. EYSO orchestras rehearse every Monday during the school year and present three public concerts throughout the season. EYSO provides exciting challenges and opportunities to every young musician from the novice to the very advanced.

Fidalgo Youth Symphony - www.fysmusic.org

Fidalgo Youth Symphony is a non-profit organization now in its 15th year of offering orchestral experience for talented young musicians in Skagit, Island, Snohomish, Whatcom counties. The Symphony consists of the Youth Orchestra, who study and perform the more challenging and advanced repertoire, the Junior Orchestra who are comprised of intermediate players, and the Sinfonette which is designed for beginning musicians. The Symphony program is under the musical direction of the talented and highly motivating Sharyn Peterson. The groups meet for rehearsal weekly during the academic year (September-June) and perform four concerts: Fall, Holiday, Winter and Spring at McIntyre Hall and other venues.

How to join
Placement interview with our music director, Mrs. Peterson, and is required for new students entering Junior and Youth Symphonies, and for returning students who wish to advance to Youth. All new musicians interested in joining should contact the administrative assistant, Mrs. Hobson, to arrange for a 15 min. interview that will determine orchestra placement according to their skill level. Mt. Baker  Youth Symphony - www.mbys.org

Mt. Baker Youth Symphony (MBYS) is an organization that provides a wholesome and stimulating environment for talented and gifted young musicians. An emphasis is placed on creating an atmosphere that encourages, challenges and develops their fullest potential in the art of performance. Participants benefit from a year-long youth symphony program designed to nurture their enjoyment of music as well as develop their musical skills and self-confidence. This program consists of a balance of rehearsals, sectional coaching sessions and concerts.

North Sound Youth Symphony - www.wwu.edu/nsys/

The North Sound Youth Symphony is entering its 17th season and its fifth year of partnership with Western Washington University, taking advantage of the marvelous facilities and educational resources of the WWU Music Department. This excellent youth orchestra based in Bellingham, WA, consists of over 100 young musicians, ages 9 to 22, from Blaine, Ferndale, Lynden, Mount Baker and Bellingham.

Performance Levels
NSYS offers three performance levels: Symphony, Philharmonia and Sinfonia. Conductors are Grant Donnellan, Morgan Schwab and Coral Marchant. They are assisted by a professional coaching staff and by WWU Music Education Majors who serve as coaches and mentors for the NSYS students.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals run from September through May and are held at Western Washington University in the Performing Arts Center on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:15 P.M.

Concerts
NSYS concerts are held in the acoustically excellent PAC Concert Hall and usually feature NSYS member soloists as part of our ongoing Concerto Competition.

Seattle Youth Symphony - www.syso.org

Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras(SYSO) is the largest youth symphony organization in the United States. Founded in 1942, we now serve over 1,100 diverse students a year through four full orchestras, three summer programs, and partnerships with local public schools. Through our financial aid programs, we make sure that every talented child can receive an excellent music education, regardless of their financial resources.

The SYSO-in-the-Schools serves over 170 students by partnering with 13 Seattle-area public schools.

The Marrowstone Summer Festivals provide intensive learning environments to over 500 students each summer.

The Academic-Year Orchestra Program serves over 470 students through four full orchestras:

Symphonette Orchestra:

Symphonette Orchestraserves as a wonderful arena for younger, less-experienced musicians to gain valuable performance experience. The repertoire is varied and serves as an introduction to orchestral technique and style. Students in the Symphonette Orchestra typically advance to the Debut Symphony Orchestra.

Debut Symphony Orchestra:

Debut Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1946 as a training group for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. The group remains SYSO's largest. Students in the Debut Symphony Orchestra typically advance to the Junior Symphony Orchestra.

Junior Symphony Orchestra:
Marcus Tsutakawa, Conductor
The Junior Symphony Orchestra is a approximately the same size as the Seattle Youth Symphony. Repertoire is extremely varied and challenging. Students in the Junior Symphony Orchestra typically feed into the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra

Comprised of our most advanced players, the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1942 by Francis Aranyi, is SYSO's flagship orchestra and one of the premier youth orchestras in the United States. Repertoire includes a variety of styles from early music to world premieres. The orchestra performs three regular season concerts in Benaroya Hall, home of the Seattle Symphony.
